The DATANET experimental database

The STRESA software has been developed at the Joint Research Centre JRC/Ispra of the EC. It allows building a
general-purpose database to store documents and data coming from any type of experimental facility as well as from
code calculations.

STRESA has been used by a certain number of SARNET organisations both for storage and consultation of experimental
data. A survey has been launched in August 09 to get the feedback of STRESA use in SARNET 1st phase.
It is proposed to continue the data storage action in the DATANET SARNET2 database with the following main purposes:

-    Continue the data storage by several organisations (IRSN, CEA, EC/IE and ITU, ERSE, CIEMAT, AEKI, etc.) that
already opened their STRESA local database,
-    Propose new training courses for the use of STRESA, incentive for new users,
-    Continue maintenance of the STRESA software (EC/JRC/IE in charge).

Some reflexion must start at JRC/IE on an upgrading of STRESA into a perennial data base beyond SARNET2 (EC/JRC/IE).
Outside of SARNET2, reflexions concern the storage of a wider range of severe accident experimental data (e.g. all
Phébus FP and ISTP data). The last point has been proposed by the Steering Committees of the concerned programmes,
with the main purpose guaranteeing long term storage of experimental programme data after their termination. Also
interpretation reports and computer analysis should be included. A link to an OECD based data bank is also
considered.
