The new European Association NUGENIA has been recently created in the SNETP frame: “NUclear GENeration II-III international Association”. It aims at defining the short and long-term R&D on safety of Gen.II-III NPPs. It has integrated the NULIFE network on Long-Term-Operation R&D. Among the 7 R&D areas defined in NUGENIA, one is devoted to severe accidents. The leader of this area is J.P. vAn Dorsselaere (IRSN) who is also the SARNET coordinator. Discussions will take place in the next months between the NUGENIA representatives (led by EDF) and the SARNET Steering Committee about the future links between SARNET and NUGENIA.
